TEACHING

Teaching allows me the opportunity to re-learn aspects of ballet and to discover new things through my students. I insist on the right alignment of the body, breathing efficiently, economy of effort and not forcing the dance.
I think of ballet, which is my basic schooling, as an intelligent abstract use of the body, still able to grow through new and different corporal and artistic approaches. To stay alive this art should remain a medium of creation, although this is becoming rare as many people tend to consider ballet as a tacky form of entertainment without connection to the modern world.
